Here, horse-riding is a serious affair, a tradition that has been passed on for generations. Come and explore the destination on the back of a trusty steed. And if you prefer to admire the horses from afar, come and see them at the spectacular “manade” farms or at the “Courses Camarguaises”. Horse-riding

Put on your riding helmet and grab the reins, you’re ready for your adventure! Ride along the trails of the Pays d’Uzès Pont du Gard destination to the familiar “clippety-clop” sound of your horse. Whether you are an experienced rider or not, our horse-riding stables will welcome you and share their passion with you.

Have you got your own horse and you’d like to go for a ride here? There are several trails accessible to horses across the area: the Sentier des Concluses and Sentier de la Pierre Plantée, the Sentier des Ocres or the Sentier de l’Etang de la Capelle, to name but a few.

Horse-drawn carriage rides

After the horses have been attached to the carriage, take your seat at the back, and just enjoy your guided tour through the countryside. For food lovers and those who appreciate the good things in life, you’ll really enjoy this experience, with opportunities to taste local products. On the programme: promenade, picnic, walk and therapy with horses.

Equestrian traditions

The horse is also a key part of the Gard and Camargue traditions. The Haras National d’Uzès is a great place to see the importance of horses in local heritage and practices. Keeping this tradition alive is paramount in the Pays d’Uzès Pont du Gard destination and events are organised on a regular basis to celebrate equestrian traditions. At these events, you can learn all about teams of horses, in-hand work with the horses, the leather industry and maintaining the cars, as well as some new discoveries with regards tourism and gastronomy.
